Space exploration is much too expensive and the money should be spent on more important things. To what extent do you agree or disagree.

There is an argument that
space
exploration is a waste of money and there are more urgent needs to be addressed on earth,
such
as reducing poverty and preventing environmental destruction.
However
, I completely disagree and
this
research
should be carried on.
First
of all, many of the technologies we take for granted were originated mainly from
space
research
. Take satellite innovation,
for instance
, which we depend on broadcasting weather forecast so without these we would not able to follow global events as they happen, nor about the approaching storms and hurricane warning.
In addition
,
this
research
has led to the development of new lightweight materials that offer heat protection so we would enable to protect food in the long run.
Thus
,
space
exploration has eventually developed many new useful technologies that benefits us in everyday life.
Moreover
, we cannot foresee the life on earth in the near future, so we ought to develop the capability to escape from earth to other livable planet. Gradually, we are learning how humans can survive for long periods in
space
and even travel to other planets. To illustrate
this
, Elon musk owner of SpaceX has successfully deployed a spacecraft in deep
space
last
year. If
this
programme is halted,
then
the valuable knowledge will never be acquired. Henceforth, it is imperative that we should allocate funds for
this
valuable
research
. To sum up, while we undoubtedly face serious problems on our planet,
however
, we cannot deny the importance of
such
programme which is beneficial for entire human kinds.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
