The efficient functioning of society is based on rules and laws. Society would not function well if individuals were free to do whatever they wanted. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Rules and laws are fundamental in the modern society as they legally forbid people to do certain things that can cause damage. I totally agree if there are no restrictions from laws, some people would behave recklessly and the society might not run efficiently. When people were allowed to do things at their will, they would choose to do what seemed to be easier and beneficial, which could bring about the burden and damage to an efficient society.

, to protect the environment, every household in some countries are obliged to sort the garbage under rules and instructions despite the inconvenience. Even though they will face a heavy fine, if they do not put the waste in the right place, some people still forget or refuse to obey the rules because it is a time-wasting and non-beneficial thing to do. Naturally, when there is no legal bond to laws and punishment, more people would quit doing it and cause problems to the city recycle system. Some people would talk about sensitive topics,

as racism and sexism without concerns.

could hurt the feelings of those involved or even cause serious conflicts. The conflict between races is a long standing problem. There are still people thinking the equality between races and genders does not exist. With the help of legislation and social rules, most people are cautious about the legal consequences.

However

, without restriction of law terms, the freedom of speech could go wild. If the verbal conflict escalates to physical ones, people may feel unsafe and threatened so they stopped go to work or school. Education and the economy would suffer.
