When cars and cyclists use the same roads, there are often problems. Why is this the case? What are the solutions?
It is often suggested that public roads for both cars and bicyclists are a thorny issue for the society. Personally, I believe that cyclists should have their own bike paths to have a possibility to move safely.
The main reason why the majority of conflicts on roads happen is that vehicles are dangerous for cyclists and because of it motorists should decrease their speed to give cyclists a trail. That practice usually leads to
traffic
jams and increases the tension to each other. For example
, in China on shared road
congestion is 80% more common than on roads only for cars. Moreover
, because most cyclists ignore traffic
violations, accidents happen more often. For instance
, only in Moscow last
year there were 11% of fatal accidents among bicyclists which were caused by violation of traffic
rules.
There are several solutions how to break this
vicious circle of conflicts on roads and to prevent further
accidents. First
of all, the government should construct new bicycle lanes to create new relationships between people on cars and
bicycles. In Suggestion

this
case, traffic
will run parallel and safely for all road
participants. A good example of this
would be some European cities like Amsterdam where there is
a large percentage of people travelling by bicycle. Suggestion

Additionally
, authorities should eliminate the lack of road
signs to make rules
clearer for those parts of roads where motorists and bicyclists cross.
In conclusion, cars and bikes can avoid most conflicts on roads if solutions presented above will be implemented. In my humble opinion, governments should improve the infrastructure for safer Suggestion
