Walking is known to be beneficial for health, yet fewer and fewer people are walking these days? What are the reasons for this? What can be done to tackle this problem?

It is a well-known fact that walking helps people in burning calories and staying healthy. Despite of
this
, the number of people who walk daily are reduced significantly. Several factors
such
as availability of e-commerce applications and distant workplace are responsible for
this
. The government and individual should take few steps to tackle
this
issue. There are many reasons behind
this
declining trend of walking.
Firstly
, nowadays people

far away from their offices,
thus
it becomes quite impossible for them to walk to their workplace.
As a result
, they prefer to commute by their own cars or bikes.
This
was not the case in the past. People used to prefer living near their workplace.
For instance
, many youths, despite having great education, used to work in the rural areas, so that they can stay near their home. Another possible reason is availability of e-commerce applications, which deliver all wanted products at one's doorstep.
Thus
, people need not to walk to the market to buy anything. The government ought to take few steps to encourage people to walk more and more.
For instance
, public transport of every metropolitan city should be improved, so that people stop using their own vehicles to commute. By doing so, people will at least walk to the nearest station to avail the public metro or bus service in order to commute to and from the office.
Additionally
, the public should be encouraged to use park facilities available to them, for morning and evening walks. In conclusion, online delivery platforms and office location are mainly responsible for
this
declining trend of walking. People can be encouraged to walk by improving public transportation and motivating them to use available park facilities.
