The environmental problems that today's world is facing are so great that there is little ordinary people can do to improve the situation. So government and large organizations should be responsible for reducing the amount of damage being done to the environment. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Environmental problems aren't new to the mankind and we've always been successful in addressing those issues with strong determination. While there is very little that we can contribute towards the problem as an individual, many people expect

government

the government

and large organizations to handle

such

issues.

However

, I would argue, without support from the masses, there would be a tiny scope for win-win situation

To begin

with, some sections of the people always look at authorities and large corporate organizations during tough times and often criticize their work. One should remember that, the ministry has a lot more things to focus,

such

as administration, defence, health and welfare of the public

besides

addressing the key environmental challenges.

Although

if

government

takes enough measures to tackle the issues, unless public shows interest, the outcomes will most likely remain one sided.

For example

last

month health ministry has organized several awareness camps regarding the Coronavirus pandemic.

However

, there wasn’t enough response from the public, and

this

resulted in an exponential virus outburst in the country.

In contrast

, I would argue that, public should feel the sense of responsibility to face the environmental challenges.

Instead

of expecting a helping hand, if citizens can roll their sleeves and discuss the situation within their community and take steps towards the betterment of the situation, we can expect much quicker results.

For instance

, during 2005 Gujarat earthquake, many people volunteered themselves and extended their support to the

government

to help the people in need and

as a result

, the state restored back to its new normal in less than 6 months’ time. In a nutshell, I firmly believe that, during the crisis, without blaming or expecting others help, public and

should sync together and work in the common interest of the society.
