Some universities now offer their courses on the Internet so that people can study online. Is this a positive or negative development?

There are more online courses available in some universities today. While I believe
this
is a positive development, I
also
believe online courses develop some negative influences. On the one hand, online courses offer students and teachers more flexible schedules. Despite bad weather conditions, traffic jam and busy agendas that they are still able to attend the
course
on time. For instances, people need to spend more time
on

in
traffic to go to school in a snowy day, meanwhile, slippery road conditions might trigger car accidents.
As a result
, an online
course
can prevent
this
from happening, lower the risk of having accidents, and allow everyone to join the class.
Furthermore
, students are able to save commute time in order to focus on making progress in their studies.
On the other hand
, online courses lessen the opportunities of interactions for students and teachers. These interactions can help develop
students

students'
confidence in the long term, which are

communicating to each other about homework, discussing various topics and asking teachers’ questions.
Nevertheless
, if a student is sitting in front of a machine
instead
of a real person, that can be hard to make interactions.
Additionally
, teachers
also
have difficulties to instruct their students in an efficient way without any physical presence.
For example
, an art teacher tries to direct a student to draw an object by making minor changes on the student’s artwork.
However
,
this
becomes an impossible mission to accomplish from an online
course
.
Therefore
,
this
student loses a chance of improving his drawing skill rapidly. In conclusion, online
course
does bring conveniences to people, it
also
develops some negative aspects to them.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
