In many countries, weddings are getting bigger and more expensive than the past. Is this a positive or negative development?

One of the main conspicuous trends of today's world is a colossal upsurge in the number of people believing that nowadays, weddings are celebrated in a grand manner and a lot of money is spent on it. I completely agree with
this
statement because it is the way to negative development and viewpoints related to the same will be elucidated in the upcoming paragraphs. There are a myriad of arguments in favour of my stance, the most preponderant one is huge wealth is consumed on wedding decoration and preparation. For
this
, people have to borrow a loan from the bank or the relatives which is very difficult to repay. Thanks for buying exclusive outfits and jewellery for the bride as well as groom which costs society an arm or a leg.
Furthermore
, they
also
have to pay for providing the best hospitality to their relatives,
such
as booking a descent hotel for their stay, food and so on.
In addition
, the material used for decoration is made up of plastic which causes environmental concerns.
For example
, a rich family organised their son's marriage near the beach of cape town in 2001.
This
wedding generates an enormous amount of waste and resulted in deaths of sea animals which consumed the waste items thinking they were food. Needless to say, all these drawbacks have far reaching impact on community which are too dire to ignore.
On the contrary
, some other may claim that these grand parties can create jobs for local people or help to grow the local business.
However
, bigger and costlier weddings do not provide much social value.
this
Suggestion
This
money can cause for other social causes.
Besides
, it is
also
true that many wealthy people show their financial status by arranging great functions. Those who have limited funds often influenced on attending
such
parties, and throw everything they have to organise
such
an expensive program. After spending lavishly on these arrangements, sometimes conflict arises between the married couple when they are not enjoying the married life.
For instance
, the Sunday times reported that newly wedded couples who spend
such
a massive amount on their wedding are 42% more likely to divorce than who did not.
Hence
, it is apparent that why are many against it. From what has been discussed above, one can conclude that the drawbacks of expanding earnings on
such
parties or functions which is harmful to our surroundings are indeed too dire to ignore.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
