Many people say that universities should only offer places to young students with the highest marks, while others say they should accept people of all ages, even if they did not do well at school. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

In
this
contemporary world, some individuals argue that universities should only accept top scoring and fresh high
school
graduates.
However
, others believe anyone should be allowed to attend, even without a secondary education.
This
essay will take a closer look on both these sides and will explain why it is preponderate to accept the correct person who is seeking a university admission. On one hand, many students cannot afford to start
further
education immediately after high
school
. If a student's parents don't earn enough, it is impossible to pay the exorbitant fees needed for university.
However
,
this
issue is solved by taking a gap year and working assiduously to save up enough money for a decent college.
For instance
, I took a year off before starting medical
school
to save up money by working as a waiter.
Thus
, it allows the individual to cut down their student debt.
Furthermore
, having high marks may make an individual smart, but they may lack other necessary skills needed to excel in the course. A person's personality is just as important as their intelligence quotient.
This
is evidenced by top medical schools not only requiring students to deliver a high grade point average, but
also they conduct
Suggestion
they also conduct
an interview to assess their character to filter out anyone who is unfit for the role.
This
will ensure they get the perfect candidate for the course.
On the other hand
, someone who has accomplished top marks among their classmates should be rewarded for their efforts. If they triumphed in their final exams, they must have sacrificed a lot to reach that level. It can be seen why these students are more deserving than their older counterparts as they spent their time more wisely. Some universities giving priority to younger and smarter students are seen in top Australian universities as they have separate undergraduate courses, where if students somehow beat the cut-throat competition, they will be rewarded with an offer.
This
ensures that hard work will be rewarded. In conclusion, I personally believe that a tertiary education should be offered to the right person for that specific course, regardless of age and
school
grades.
This
is because some students need time to save money and even though top achievers worked hard, they may not possess the right traits.
