Governments should spend money on railways rather than roads. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Government ought to invest railways
instead
of roads because passengers generally prefer railways transportation. In my opinion, travelling on the railways have more benefits than travelling highways. Money is people’s most significant concern. Earning money is so hard;
hence
, people do not want to spend money for expensive transportation if they had a chance to choose cheaper way. Cars’ prices are increasing every passing day;
therefore
, buying car is not affordable for most people an account of their low salary.
Also
, fuel’s cost is rising because of the country's economy. People want to save their money in
this
expensive world.
As a result
of all these, they prefer affordable ways which are railways like train or subway. Timing is everything in
this
contemporary world. People have so many duties to do it
such
as their children, job, housework. They have to be in the right place at the right time. Traffic is time’s most dangerous enemy because it causes wasting time.
For instance
, when a person goes for a job interview if she is late it is really bad for her
first
impression. That’s why, people prefer a faster way when they travelling. Cars cause traffic on the highway;
however
, the subways have their own special roads which are railways. In
this
way of transportation has not traffic congestion problem. Considering all
this
, it is unwise to invest roads
instead
railways. Most of the peoples cars are not affordable ways.
Also
, people have to care about no wasting their time, and on the railways have no traffic. Government should consider their citizens' preferences.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
