Today's teenagers have more stressful lives than previous generations. Discuss this view and give your own opinion.

Nowadays, many sociologists consider that the modern young generation is most susceptible to stressful pressure and this kind of pressure is much more significant than it was before. In my opinion, any definition of the “severity of being” and the psychological state of some generation is always very conditional and we cannot identify those who suffered the most significantly. Young people we can call “teenagers” in 2020 are representatives of “Generation Z” according to the Strauss – Howe theory and they were born between 1997 and 2012. They were the first generation, who completely found itself in the digital world of globalization from the moment of their birth - for them technologies are just some part of an ordinary life and not something meaningful, like it was for previous generations. Children who were born at this time began to use various digital devices almost from the beginning of their life - I will never forget a child from the Moscow subway, because he was not able to walk and talk, but very deftly coped with a tablet and even tried to teach his grandmother. Overall, this generation is most heavily dependent on the Internet and other gadgets, and unlike previous generations, they usually prefer to spend their lives in the digital world, than face to face. Perhaps, because of this kind of lifestyle, according to American studies, the number of cases of depression among this generation is significantly higher than all previous ones. In conclusion, I would like to stress that although children of “Generation Z” are most prone to depression, this does not mean that they have more stressful lives. They face completely different difficulties than other generations, but they also have great advantages. Finally, the emergence of global statistics is also partly a new phenomenon and is not capable of giving an accurate assessment of the life of previous generations.
