Recently, abortion increases rapidly and becomes a controversial topic. Some people suppose that abortion should be legal while others are against it. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
Nowadays, it is often argued about the legality of abortion. Some people strongly believe that this action should not be allowed by the law while others think that this practice should be legal. This essay will discuss the above-mentioned controversial topic in detail with suitable examples. To begin with, abortion has been bad seen through the course of history. In the past, a machist and highly religious society punished women who tried to practice this action. For instance, this point of view and this thought have last through the time until now. People, in this case women, should not abort under any circumstance. In addition, individuals these points of view believe that life is sacred and should be protected of any harm, hence once the pregnancy is confirmed the baby life should be preserved. On the other hand, other individuals believe that this kind of thought is ancient, tied to a machist and religious past, and abortion should be an option for women who choose to end the pregnancy. In the same way, they support women's freedom to choose what to do with their body, and they do not consider that the baby is completely formed until the second trimester. Furthermore, nowadays, we are able to check and follow with big accuracy the course of the pregnancy and detect a high range of illness or disabilities that could put at risk the life of the baby or even the mother. In this case, medicine is allowed and supported by the law to intervene and, also, end the pregnancy, independent of the trimester. In conclusion, abortion is a controversial topic that we face today and the opinion and position of each country and nation can be highly influenced by their culture and traditions. In my opinion, the rapid increase of abortions, it may be caused due to modern medicine. Consequently, modern medicine intervenes to ensure the health and well-being of mother and baby and try to provide a future life, free of suffering.
