Increasing the price of petrol is the best way to solve growing traffic and pollution problems. To what extent do you agree or disagree ? What other measures do you think might be effective.

Yesteryears have seen a tremendous
increase
in the
consumption
of fossil fuels, which directly produced an uncontrollable
impact
on the traffic and pollution. While some individuals debate that the
consumption
of petroleum can be reduced by increasing the
cost
, many believe that it's not a workable
solution
and the government has to be creative to tackle
this
issue.
This
essay elicits my viewpoint that
increase
in
cost
would not decrease the
consumption
of petrol and highlights a feasible
solution
that can be widely implemented. On the one hand, some individuals think that
consumption
of petrol is directly proportional to the
price
, and fluctuating the
price
would create viable solutions for the traffic and environment.
This
is because all transportation and leisure vehicles in
this
world
run with the help of fossil fuels and the
price
increase
would make it less affordable for commoners to utilize their vehicles for non-mandatory activities. To illustrate
this
better, the current pandemic crisis resulted in the decline of gas prices as many people stayed inside and did not use any modes of transportation. While
this
made the environment to rejuvenate, it was not a sustainable model to tackle the congestion and pollution issues. Unless individuals understand the negative impacts of fossil fuel, the
cost
factor alone cannot drive to a lasting
solution
.
On the other hand
, many people think that
increase
in gas prices would affect the economy and directly
impact
the blue collar workers.
For example
, during the 2008 recession, the gas prices were hiked and it directly affected the daily wage workers. While it created a lot of socioeconomic
impact
around the
world
, it has not contributed anything to the environment.
Although
people remember that
cost
Suggestion
the cost
has a direct
impact
in the
consumption
of fossil fuels, they want the government to be creative to tackle
this
issue effectively. If the
world
agrees to advocate the usage of electric vehicles, it could create a long lasting
solution
and preserve the
world
for future generations. In summary, individuals need to understand the impacts that petrol creates in
this
world
. Personally, I believe that
price
can not be the sole factor in controlling the
consumption
of petroleum and the governments have to think out of the box to tackle
this
issue
