Individuals can do nothing to improve the environment; only governments and large companies can make a difference. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Some people believe that citizens are not able to prevent harmful from the environment and
this
responsibility should be taken by
government
solely. In my personal point of view, I completely disagree with
this
opinion. There are some reasons why some advocate the idea that the environmental improvement should be done only by
government
. The
first
reason is that
government
has a power to adapt something for use in the whole nation. Only they could enact environment-related laws that can be enforced in a national scale and everyone will obey their laws.
For example
,
government
Suggestion
the government
could impose punishments on people who violate the laws of environmental protection, leading to a raise in the awareness of inhabitants of following laws.
Next reason
Suggestion
The next reason
is that by receiving taxes from citizens,
government
has an abundant source of finance,
therefore
, they have a function to allocate the source of money to enhance the environmental quality. Apart from the actions taken by
government
, I personally believe that people in every country should
also
be aware of protecting their surroundings.
Firstly
, residents could support
government
in keeping the environment clean by collecting rubbish around them and classifying it into different types of
waste
products,
such
as liquid
waste
, solid
waste
, paper
waste
and plastic
waste
.
Next
, everyone should change the habit of driving their private vehicles into using means of public transportation
such
as bus or train.
This
action helps to minimize the amount of emission of fumes from cars and motorbikes.
As a result
, the quality of the environment and the atmosphere will be upgraded and refreshed significantly. In conclusion, I argue that the environmental protection should be taken by both
government
and their citizens. The performance would be best if there is a combination of both sides.
