More and more students are choosing to study at colleges and universities in foreign countries. Do the benefits of studying abroad outweigh the drawbacks?

In recent times, the trend of moving abroad for higher education has seen an upward growth. In my opinion, there are more drawbacks than the advantages of
this
movement.
This
essay shall discuss that the financial costs involved in moving out of one's own country and leaving the family behind outweighs the argument of gaining cultural experiences while studying in another country. The major drawback for students opting to study abroad is related to the financial costs involved in the whole process.
In other words
, the fees of tertiary education

already on the high side yet students take the risk of opting for it and completing their academic life outside their own nation.
For instance
, students take huge loans on high interest rates for admission into these universities and if they are not able to grab a good job,
then
repaying
this
loan becomes a huge burden on them, eventually causing mental stress. Another disadvantage of venturing out is the loss of support system called family.
Although
, a learner can adjust outside due to young age, the family left behind is always worried about their ward. In many cases, it has been observed that families have broken up because once the child completes the education and secures a job, he or she is not willing to go back to the native land.
This
has resulted in
further
reduction in the size of a nuclear family.
On the contrary
, many students believe that studying in a foreign University gives them an exposure which is beneficial for their job life. They get to learn different cultures, new languages and prepares them better for the challenges to be faced in future. In a recent study by a consulting firm, it was stated that students having cross cultural experience are better prepared to secure leadership roles in big MNCs.
Thus
, giving a push to the propaganda that going out to study is better than taking academic lessons in

although
, travelling to a foreign country for studies and
then
settling in permanently looks promising,
this
certainly has drawbacks where a person loses out on the opportunity cost, adds extra financial burden as well as misses out the love and care of the family.
Thus
, a student moving abroad should weigh all the options before making a big decision of the life.
