There is a growing number of people who want to live a healthier life and
also
for environmental reasons have cut down or stopped their consumption of animal and fish products. My opinion is a majority might and many others will
also
limit their intake of meat as part of their diet or not eat it at all in the future, but a large minority will not. More people around the world are becoming vegetarians and because there are improvements to their overall health.
Moreover
, eating too much beef and especially pork is detrimental to our digestive systems.
Besides
, the fact that there are healthy countries around the world where meat dishes are not part of their main diet is helpful. A good example is India, where vegetables are considered of greater importance and meat is less of an essential part of their daily consumption.
However
, it is important to ensure that enough protein is included in the diet from other sources. A couple of examples are tofu and other soya bean dishes which have similar properties in taste to beef. In my experience, it is quite common for people to become vegetarians because they feel that it is inherently wrong to eat animal flesh and increasing production of it in adds to global warming and use up resources
such
as land which could lead to food shortages.
This
idealistic point of view is very attractive, but it is hard to judge whether it is correct. I believe that being a vegetarian is a good idea in principle resulting in well being and greener communities.
However
, vegetarianism does not suit everybody, and I doubt whether it will ever be universal among all people.
