In many cities around the world, traffic is a serious problem. What are the causes of this and what actions can be taken to improve the situation?
Traffic
is considered to be one of the major issues in most of the urban areas. Although
it is stated that vehicles bring convenience to people, it is also
argued that it is the cause of the delay to commuters. This
essay will discuss the major causes of road
traffic
which are, the growing population in township areas and insufficient infrastructure; and also
discuss the possible solutions to tackle these problems.
Traffic
congestions are caused because of two things. The first
one to point would be the growing inhabitants in the inner-city areas. As the number of people rises, the demand for motorised vehicles also
surge. In cities like Mumbai and Delhi, for instance
, the population has expanded way above the limit and therefore
the roads are mostly congested which causes a hinder movement. In addition
to this
, because of insufficient infrastructures built by the government, the roads are being blocked furthermore
. Poor road
maintenance and lack of public transport
are one of the major causes of road
blockages in many urban areas.
Despite the traffic
congestion, there are, however
, certain options to alleviate these problems. Investing and building a future in regional areas would help reduce the populace from the urban side of the country. Australia, for instance
, is promoting and implementing laws to promote their rural areas so that the populations are evenly distributed which thereby, results in less traffics on the road
. Moreover
, improvising public transport
is crucial. Even though the government has provided people with public transport
, they should focus on covering the limited access areas. This
would ensure that people are dependent on public transport
and do not need to use personalised vehicles.
In conclusion, even though traffic
congestions may seem to be an inevitable part of modern city life, it may not be so if the public transport
and the populace are evenly distributed. I, however
, believe with creative thinking and proper implementation resources, traffic
will not be a serious problem to many cities around the globe.Submitted by rynellabraham on
