With the pressures on today’s young people to succeed academically, some people believe that non-academic subjects at school (eg: physical education and cookery) should be removed from the syllabus so that children can concentrate wholly on academic subjects. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Nowadays there is increasing pressure on juveniles to have grand success in education, keeping
this
in mind, some people think of omitting the extracurricular activities. The main reason for thinking of this
is so that pupils could concentrate on educational content such
as maths and science. I do not agree with this
opinion because health
stays in optimum condition by doing exercise, so these non-academic subjects help in maintaining good health
.
It is the fact that if the academic score is poor, there is a high chance of staying unemployed unless one really has a good family business. This
is the main reason for parents to think on academic scores to be excellent. Furthermore
, parents also
think that non-educational topics such
as sports and culinary skills are unnecessarily occupying the bandwidth of students. For example
, in some schools, they teach how to make Russian food as vocational subjects and points gained in it are used positively for an overall score. So students put a lot of efforts in such
cooking classes and they end up losing time and fail in studying for maths and science. As a result
, the academic score for which employers are giving utmost importance gets lowered. But unless a child does physical activity, health
might deteriorate. So according to me at least 20 percent
of efforts should be given to non-studious topics Change the spelling

such
as physical training.
As a contrary, if any student exceeds the expectations in cooking or sports, that can be a great opportunity to take part in the Olympics or to become a chef as a career. Topmost achievers in such

Although
such
chances are rare, one still should encourage to be part of physical activities to have a healthy mind and body. I have seen examples of academic toppers who are having health
challenges such
as often approaching hospitals and under medications.
To sum up, there should be consideration of physical activities and vocational subjects apart from academics, so that students will stay healthy and wise. Parents should not avoid such
subjects because these subjects indirectly help in succeeding academically by having a healthy mind as a result
of a healthy body.Submitted by sumant2000 on
