News stories on TV and in newspapers are very often accompanied by pictures. Some people say that these pictures are more effective than words. What is your opinion about this?

Pictures are often used in television news and newspapers as a tool to make communication more effective. I somewhat agree that images can be more powerful than words. The main reason why pictures are more powerful is the insight they provide.
For instance
, images have the power to reveal specific information about an event
such
as facial expression and number of people involved, the setting and even its location.
In addition
, it makes it quick and easy to confirm what is being argued, as an example in a violence abuse case where police officers are seen hitting protesters in London. As result, media turns to visual resources to increase its public’ overall satisfaction with the information provided in our fast-paced society.
However
, there are drawbacks to turning down traditional text.
For example
, many issues
such
as financial fraud, corruption and inappropriate laws cannot be revealed using images but with text documents as statements, declarations and law projects.
In addition
, while important parameters as the weather often cannot be grasped with pictures in the case of swinging temperatures, written or spoken words from a journalist are vital to explain the case.
Therefore
, journals often turn to articles to describing matters in-depth, including visuals for additional details. In conclusion, I somewhat agree that visuals are more important than text as it recreates the moment but fails to provide insight into important information in more abstract topics. Each journal, in my opinion, should strive for the optimization of their content through the usage of both resources.
