A growing number of people feel that animals should not be exploited by people and that they should have the same rights as humans while other argue that humans must employs animals to satisfy their various needs,including uses for food and research. Discuss both views and give your opinion

Many people would like animals to be protected and treated fairly by humans,

of being used to our own benefit. Animals and humans can cooperate effectively in many cases. Police dogs,

for example

, are very useful, in fact, working with an officer to search for illicit products or explosives is considered as a game by the dogs. They even found recently that dogs could be trained to detect certain diseases.  Sadly things are not always so perfect, some animals

such

as mice, pigs, and monkeys are still used in laboratories for research purposes. A lot of brand in the cosmetic industry does not test their product on animals anymore,

however

, in some country like China it is mandatory for cosmetic products to be tested on animals before they can be sold. It is dramatic and unnecessary as scientists have other ways to know if a formula is safe for humans. Unfortunately, some drugs still have to be tested on animals before humans, and I doubt that we will ever find alternatives as in-vitro tests' results are not close accurate enough to predict the effect a drug will have on a living organism. The fact that we sometime must employ animals should not allow us not to question our relation to animal exploitation in general. We know now that meat,

for example

, is not essential to our diet,

however

, animal products consumption in general.
