Some people think that universities should provide graduates with the knowledge and skills needed in the workplace. Others think that the true function of a university should beto give access to knowledge for its own sake, regardless of whether the course is useful to an employer. What ,in your opinion, should be the main function of a university?

A few have argued that higher educational institutes should provide graduates with the necessary theory and experience needed at workplaces. Some have a thought that the real purpose of a university is to give entry for knowledge for its own sake,in any case,whether the course is beneficial to an employer or not; in my perspective, I believe, the teaching facilities for higher education have their specific functions. In

this

article, I intend to emphasize on the mains roles of the university. Is it worth the struggle?

To begin

with, these schools give an overview of a special series offered.

For instance

, every semester focuses on different plan units;

this

gives the learner an opportunity to attain knowledge in different areas which can be used to understand the program better and easily refer to later in practice. While the students find the learn structure difficult, a systematic pattern of study has been adopted to simplify the work. During the study, there have been hands-on training;

for example

, Kampala International University facilitates pharmacy students to do a mandatory industrial training at different industries all over Uganda like Abacus Parenterats Limited, Quality Chemicals Limited, Kampala Pharmaceutical industry, to mention but a few.

In addition

, it has now been made a culture by colleges to include practical experiments majorly at the end of the study in form of research.

This

has been done to make the students more independent as well as creative.

Furthermore

, it is my opinion that studies from universities have helped many in decision-making in relation to specialities. To illustrate, medical officers use their bachelor's ability to choose their masters interests

as gynaecology, internal medicine and so much more;

this

generally improves career guidance. After mentioning the above purposes of the university,I conclude by emphasizing that these academies are very vital to both the graduates and employers. If there were no higher educational institutes,

then

students would barely have any knowledge required for jobs.
