You have heard that a developer plans to build a shopping centre near your home. Write a letter to the council. In your letter • say how you heard about the plan • explain how you feel about it • ask for more information about it

Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to you with regards to the recent developer plans to build a shopping
centre
in our neighbourhood, which is quite welcoming. From the monthly newsletter update, I understand that the shopping
centre
will be a multi-storied building aiming to create hundreds of new jobs.
In addition
, it will house some of the prominent local and international fashion brands, supermarket chains, food courts and a medical
centre
. As a resident of your council, I am super excited not only because it will help to reduce the unemployment rate of our local government area but eventually will boost the property value. I believe the development of new businesses and employment will significantly contribute to our local economy and make our suburb a shopping destination for the shoppers.

Such
a massive shopping
centre
would definitely increase the local traffic and I suspect the patrons will start using the off-street parking traditionally used by the residents, like myself. Would you kindly send me some information pack outlining the plan for

Use a variety of complex and simple sentences

You should use complex sentences in your writing, but it does not mean that you should try to make all of our sentences complex.

‘Complex’ sentences are not actually very complex; they are just two or more simple sentences put together. Putting them together makes the essay more coherent and cohesive.

Examples:

I really want to study but I’m too tired.

I wore a warm coat because the weather was cold.

If action is not taken soon on climate change, global warming will get worse.
