It is often argued that life in the past is not essential to the
way
we live in the world
today
, while others believe that
history
is vital and beneficial to our existence
today
. In my opinion, I believe that we still need our past
history
to help us stay connected to our
culture
and
identity
.
This
is essay will discuss both side of the arguments and
further
display my opinion. The
way
of the world has changed dramatically with the advanced in
technology
and education, there is a lot of improvement in the
way
people
live in terms of housing and employment.
For example
, there are more
people
with high level of qualifications nowaday, which help them find a high paid job to support their family and live a comfortable life. With the availability and advanced in
technology
people
are able to communicate faster and cheaper especially when they live overseas or far away. I have witnessed it wity my husband, he used facebook messenger to call his mom in the island almost everyday.
On the other hand
,
although
the advance in
technology
and education is benefical to our existence
today
,
history
from the past is very much relevant because
people
tend to work physically and socialise more with relatives as well as the community. It gives us a sense of belonging. Our individual
culture
today
is because of the our
history
and our ancestors.
For example
, I grew up in a
culture
where we dressed in a
way
to display respect and purpose and know who we are. Without our past, we do not have a
culture
where it provide us our true
identity
. I believe that we will always need our past to guide us and help us maintain our
culture
and our
identity
. In conclusion,
although
we are in a modern world with increased in
technology
and higher education, we still need our past
history
so that we can stay connected to our
culture
values and
identity
and
thus
gives us a purpose in life.Cohesion and Coherence: Lexical Resource: Grammatical Range & Accuracy: Task Response:
