In spite of the advances made in agriculture , many people around the world still go hungry. Why is this the case? What can be done about this problem?

In the
last
century, we have made significant scientific and technological progress, which has transformed every field. Agriculture is one of those sectors where these advances have greatly impacted.
However
, the issue of people starving has remained consistent. The prime reasons are uneven weather due to global warming and costly
tools
for implementing the aforementioned advances. According to climate experts, global warming is the biggest concern for our generation. Global warming has caused uneven climatic changes all around the world.
This
has affected hugely for the peasant because the crop quality and quantity depends mainly on the weather.
For example
, the
farmers
of India depend on monsoon rains for adequate water in their fields, but due to global warming, the rains have become inconsistent and have damaged the crops.
Also
, due to the population boom in the
last
few decades have resulted in lesser availability of land for
farmers
to meet the demand of the increasing population.
This
has increased the number of people starving. In spite of the advances made in the
last
century, the devices required for the implementation them remained expensive and beyond the reach of the normal
farmers
. Instances
such
as seeds that are genetically modified to provide great yield are very much costlier than the seeds that do not provide so.
This
nullifies the effort of our scientists.
In addition
,
farmers
are not aware of the new technological means that are available in the market for them, and
thus
they are reluctant to use one of those are made available to them.
Hence
, these factors have contributed to less yield, eventually more starved people. It is the duty of the government to ensure nobody sleeps without having food in their respective nation.
Therefore
, they should make programs and spread awareness about these
tools
and their benefits. They should
also
provide subsidies to these
tools
for the
farmers
so that they can easily buy and use these advanced
tools
. The decentralised concerned government bodies should arrange to meet these
farmers
and know their issues related to farming, and remove the barriers between the
farmers
and these advanced
tools
and knowledge.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
