Many people are of the opinion that technology has greatly benefited our lives in every day, and it had made achieving a balance between work and personal life more attainable. What is your opinion?

✨ Do you want to improve your IELTS writing?
Some individuals are sure that technology has significantly improved our everyday
life
and it had reached the work-
life
balance. I think that
this
statement is absolutely right and in
this
essay, I will explain the reasons for my opinion. On the one hand, modern technologies ease
people
everyday
life
with the advantages of the internet and satellite communication.
For instance
, nowadays is much easier to communicate with business partners and even arrange meetings online.
Furthermore
, inventions of the
last
century significantly improved the lives of
people
from all over the world. The invention of refrigerators, washing machines, dryers and other appliances save a huge amount of time for every family on the planet.
On the other hand
, no one even realized how the world changed in the
last
ten decades. Technologies allowed the brightest mind of our planet to invent antibiotics, vaccines, new surgery methods and remedies for psychological diseases. All these facts are outstanding and increased average
life
expectancy from approximately 38 years to 73 years. Due to
this
fact humanity forget about
such
diseases as the black plague, poliomyelitis and others.
However
, not only medical technologies but
also
scientific progress improved
people
lives and give them hope for the future.
For example
, thanks to science, humanity can send the
first
man to the moon and available to investigate new worlds and build theories about terraformation and colonization of an outer world. In sum, I want to conclude that scientific progress is an important part of our lives and we should not underestimate it. In the near future, I hope that new investigation and technology will provide a better
life
for all
people
on the planet.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
