Nowadays, international tourism is the biggest industry in the world. Unfortunately, international tourism creates tension rather than understanding between people from different cultures. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

The past few decades have seen a phenomenal upsurge in cross-border travel. There is a heated debate about whether the development may give rise to locals' grudge against tourists. To a certain ,extent I believe the development nourishes mutual understanding of

we cannot ignore some conflicts somehow appearing from distinct cultural backgrounds On the one hand, the main reason why international tourism is of great importance for citizens is that it helps them a lot of amazing opportunities to learn about different cultures
such
as costumes, traditions belonging to Africa, Asia or Europe.
For example
, when Western
people
travel to Asian
countries
, they learn about distinct cultural aspects from natives and are open to experiencing local customs and food which has developed a close bond between the eastern and western worlds.
Moreover
, not only international tourists invest in the development of the economic and financial sphere of the
countries
they visit, but
also
visitors help to support local
people
from unemployment - especially in small and poor
countries
, giving them the chance to survive.
On the other hand
, some argue that the rise of global tourism is associated with conflict between visitors and local
people
. Some
countries
are very close and private, their culture and traditions are very strict and strange for most of the tourists. Take Thailand
for example
, certain acts of disrespect for the King are likely to generate resentment from the local inhabitants or even worse, foreign visitors may be imprisoned.
Therefore
,
people
got tired of endless tourist streams flowing to their
countries
every year. In conclusion, I firmly believe that more emphasis should be placed on mutual understanding between cultures in transnational travel rather than the cause of tension. It is predicted that, in future, we should have more knowledge of different cultures before their arrival to avoid several unnecessary misunderstandings.
