The internet allows us to stay connected with each other no matter where we are. On the other hand, it also isolates us and encourages people not to socialise. To what extent do you agree or disagree with these statements?

Over the past few years, the
Internet
has become an integral part of our life. We use it not only for studies or work purposes but for communication purposes as well. Some
people
believe it has a negative impact on our society. But I tend to think the opposite. To start with, the
Internet
provides instant access anytime and anywhere to plenty of social networks which allow us to communicate online.
In addition
to that, it enables us to keep in touch with relatives or friends even if they are far away due to various reasons,
thus
we do not lose any connections with
people
who are precious to us.
Moreover
, it gives users an opportunity to make friends and meet new
people
from all over the world, which is a great chance to chat despite different time zones or native languages. Another point is that communication only on the
Internet
can cause a lack of social and interpersonal skills which might lead to an inability to talk to
people
in real life and develop self-consciousness.
For example
, a person will probably have some problems even with simple daily activities: going to the shop, taking a taxi and many others.
Furthermore
, the insufficiency of social interaction can have a detrimental effect on health. Scientists argue that it might be a reason for various mental illnesses
such
as social anxiety and depression, making
people
unable to feel comfortable in society. As far as I am concerned, there are clearly more positive aspects of using the
Internet
for communication due to its flexibility and accessibility. If
people
manage not to become addicted to talking with
people
exceptionally online, understanding that everything should be in measure,
this
will not have any adverse influence on our life.
