In many cities the construction of new houses and office buildings is not controlled. This leads to people building in whatever style they want without thinking about design. Do the advantages of this trend outweigh the disadvantages?

These days, the discussion about urban planning is a need. While many people believe that new structures should not follow patterns determined by the authorities, others argue that there should be general guidance. In
this
essay, I will explain why I believe the drawbacks of uncontrolled construction are outweighed by its positives when considering municipal development.
First
and foremost, it is relevant to note that

(?) building makes a disorganized town. When developing a municipality, it is necessary to know what is the existing infrastructure and the programmed growth for each region.
For example
, in the area where I live, given the lack of regulation, many tall edifices were erected without having the roads needed for the mobility of the people.
Furthermore
, by not having any guidelines, the urban style gets compromised, resulting in an unpleasing view, which in turn causes the decrease of property value. To illustrate
this
point, Paris in the 18th century had to go through a major renovation process to improve the quality and appearance of the architecture.
On the other hand
, the most significant advantage of having a regulated expansion is getting a locality designed to be efficient, more than being only aesthetically pleasing. With that type of posture, it is possible to create a territory where there is a rational economic development by choosing favourable zones for different types of purposes.
In addition
, it is attainable to increase the well being of its population, balancing the use of space with buildings and nature.
For instance
, in the city of Maringá, the industries are placed in a distant area from the residences and there are many parks and tree-lined streets, aiding both the locomotion and quality of life of its citizens.
As a result
, the companies have an adequate district in which to function, while the residents live in a pleasing environment, proving the advantages of metropolitan zoning. Having looked at both sides, despite being possible to have towns with no rules in respect of its urbanization,
that is
not the best option. In my view, the drawbacks outweigh the advantages, and having regulations is a must to have an excellent ambience.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
