In the past when students did a university degree, they tended to study in their own country. Nowadays they have more opportunity to study abroad. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this development?

Studying abroad has been embraced by the community in the past few years. The number of foreign undergraduate in

region increases each year.
This
has its advantages and disadvantages which I will try to highlight a few in
this
text. Keeping in mind that
third
world
countries
have lots of brilliant young
people
, but due to the situations of their
countries
, might never amount to anything great in life, developed
countries
and a
lot
of governmental/non-governmental organizations (as well as individual citizens), have designed the scholarship systems that favour a
lot

. Some of these scholarships not only cover the tuition but
also
, the cost of accommodations, feeding, generally the cost of living.
This
has given lots of promising young public hope and a future. Studying abroad is
also
a form of tourism. In recent years, few
people
have moved from studying in just developed
countries
to choosing
countries
like the Caribbeans, Philipines etc. Students who
study
abroad, get to not just
study
but
also
experience the cultures of whatever
countries
they choose to
study
in. They get to eat the food, meet and have conversations with the
people
, sometimes, learn the language (safe to say studying abroad is making the world a global village). As earlier stated, studying abroad has its disadvantages too. Students who
study
in well-developed
countries
, almost never return to their home country.
This
is mostly the case for a
lot
of
people
. you would expect them to take whatever they learnt and use it for the development of their own
countries
but
this
almost never happens. When students graduate from some universities, they are sometimes offered internships which are usually too good to say no.
This
is one of the leading causes of the brain drain being experienced in a continent like Africa. The culture of certain
countries
is gradually becoming extinct as most of the young individuals are leaving these
countries
in droves in search of a better life. Putting into consideration the age some
people
are before they go to university, they might not be aware of a
lot
of the cultural norms in their home country. they go to these
countries
at
such
a young age, get exposed to the cultures and most times adapt to those. Like everything in life, there's always a positive and negative aspect to things but finding the balance is always key to making sure we have a better world.
