Many historic buildings are being destroyed or damaged. What are the reasons for this? What should be done to preserve these buildings?

Historical
buildings
represent the country's culture and
heritage
. Unfortunately, in the
last
few years, many of them have been demolished, and some are in critical condition. While community development and external attacks are the main reasons behind
this
issue, there exist several possible ways to ameliorate the situation that
this
essay puts forward. There are two main factors behind the destruction of historical
buildings
. The
first
one is community improvement. Old
buildings
occupy a lot of space that could have used for other essential projects. Indeed, the
government
replaced these inoperable properties with new ones and built things like parks, gardens, and residential apartments. The
second
one is the foreign invasion which caused significant harm.
In other words
, structures like palaces, forts, and temples were the worst hit by invading foreign troops.
For example
, numerous Indian temples and palaces were looted and destroyed by foreign rulers.
This
has
also
happened in other parts of the world.
However
, we could protect our cultural
heritage
with the cooperation of people and the
government
.
Firstly
, a certain amount of budget should be allocated to the renovation of these old
buildings
. As they have historical value, and many of them are the physical representation of the country's past, the
government
should take action to repair and maintain these
buildings
.
This
action would save them from destruction.
Secondly
, the local authorities should take responsibility to promote interest in cultural
heritage
among the people. They can organize cultural events in these
buildings
to attract more visitors and impart cultural ethics.
Consequently
, it will generate more revenue which can be used to upgrade these
buildings
. In conclusion, ancient
buildings
are being destroyed because of foreign attacks and for social improvement.
However
,
this
problem can be solved if the
government
manage some fund to renovate those damaged building and if people can arrange some social events to promote cultural
heritage
.

Support ideas with relevant, specific examples

Examples make your writing easier to understand by illustrating points more effectively.

Examples, if used properly, not only help you get higher marks for ‘Task Response’ but also for ‘Coherence’.

When giving examples it is best to put them after your main idea or topic sentence. They can be used in the middle of supporting sentences or they can be used to start a new sentence. There is no rule for where exactly to give examples in essays, logically they would come after your main idea/topic sentence or just after a supporting sentence.

Linking words for giving examples:

  • for example
  • for instance
  • to illustrate this
  • to give a clear example
  • such as
  • namely
