Discipline is an ever increasing problem in modern schools. Some people think that discipline should be the responsibility of teachers while others think that this is the role of parents. Discuss both sides and give your opinion.
Nowadays, the disruptive discipline of
children
has become a commonly discussed issue. While some people believe that teachers
are responsible for fostering the ethical behaviour of children
, many others assert that this
responsibility belongs to parents
. In this
essay, I will discuss both sides of the argument and explain my support of the latter view.
It is true, that children
spend more than half of their days at school. Therefore
, teachers
should pay certain attention to the discipline of their students. Even so, generally, classes have too many students, for a teacher to be able to handle them all. For example
, I was studying together with 39 more children
in one class; thus
, when we misbehaved our teacher had to spend half of the lesson trying to calm us down. Clearly, this
is not something that is
expected from schools. In my opinion, teachers
should focus on the lessons rather than disruptive behaviours.
Alternatively, children
tend to learn everything from their parents
and imitate them. For this
reason, parents
should focus on ethically fostering their little ones. Additionally
, children
go to school at the age of 8; by that time, children
already have certain habits. More specifically, parents
start fostering their child from an early age consequently
, they have to teach what is right and what is wrong. For example
, my mother was reading fairy tales to illustrate bad and good behaviours.
To sum up, teachers
and parents
are responsible for the discipline of the younger ones at some point. However
, I believe that parents
should take more responsibility in fostering their children
because children
are small imitations of the parents
