The world natural resources are being consumed at an ever-increased rate. What are the dangers of this situation? What should we do?

In recent years, It is true that the world is experiencing the problem of the overconsumption of natural
resources
.
This
has led to many serious consequences which should be addressed urgently. The unsustainable development of the exploitation of natural
resources
has exerted negative impacts on society and on the environment.
Firstly
, the pollution of land, water, and sea has reached an alarming level due to dependence on using fossil fuels to meet the growing demands of
energy
.
For example
, the burning of coal releases a large amount of carbon emission into the atmosphere, which has resulted in global warming and air pollution over the world.
In addition
, the discharge of polluted air from factories
also
contributes to environmental pollution.
Secondly
, the rising levels of consuming
resources
have led to the depletion of natural
resources
.
For instance
, commercial overfishing devastates fish stocks. These environmental issues impact local communities,
such
as threatening jobs of local people in these areas.
In addition
, forest destruction has caused a shortage of timber and the loss of the natural habitat for many wild animals. It is evident,
therefore
, humans should adopt immediate measures to tackle these problems. The most important thing is that citizens should use alternative sources of
energy
including solar power and wind power
instead
of fossil fuels. These types of
energy
are eco-friendly and renewable. Another thing is that governments should invest in infrastructure and research to find new types of alternative
energy
resources
and make them viable for public use in years to come.
Moreover
, authorities should enact stricter laws that ban those who waste natural
resources
. In conclusion, the consumption of natural
energy
resources
reaches an alarming level, humans should take steps to deal with
this
issue.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
