You have just read an article in an international travel magazine which contained some information about your town that is incorrect. Write a letter to the editor of the magazine. In your letter: correct the information in the article explain why it is important for the magazine to give correct information suggest what the magazine should do about this situation

Dear Sir/Madam , I am a follower of your magazine "travel with us" . Your articles describing your experiences about various cities inspires me to visit those places. Recently I read a write-up about my
city
, Chandigarh and was excited to unravel the adventure you had to share about it . While I loved how you accurately described the charm of the
city
by explaining each colourful road and the culture
however
the information provided about the onset of monsoons in the
city
was not correct. Your article mentions that the
city
receives heavy rainfall from the end of June till the end of August and during these months it faces heavy traffic jams. I would like to correct you , for a decade the
city
has been witnessing monsoons from the end of July until the
first
week of September.
Also
, Chandigarh is one of the most well-structured cities in India
hence
during showers we have never faced traffic jams thanks to the efficient drainage system and disciplined residents adhering to all the traffic rules. In fact, I feel that monsoons are the best time to visit the
city
as there is
this
unique freshness and charm to the
city
which no one would want to miss out on. I feel it's important that passionate travellers like me , who follow your magazine religiously should know correct facts .
Thus
I request you to correct the information provided previously . I am attaching a beautiful monsoon picture of Chandigarh from
last
year ,maybe you could use it and correct the monsoon duration
initially
provided by you in the subtitles of the image. Hope you would consider my suggestions. Regards , Chetna Kaul

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
