Some countries have introduced laws to limit working hours for employees. Why are these laws introduced? Do you think they are a positive or negative development?

Almost all countries have a set of rules and regulations on employment. Some nations have decided to put limitations on the working
hours
of individuals.
This
essay will discuss the main reason for it and will explain why I think it is a positive development. The main cause of introducing limitations is usually to provide more jobs for unemployed
people
. As
people
having good jobs work extra time, in order to earn some extra money, it is quite difficult for jobless
people
to get even a part-time job. Restricting Working
hours
can result in more part-time working opportunities. In my opinion, there are numerous benefits to gain from these rules. Some of the positive developments from
this
are: Mainly, reduction in the unemployment ratio of the country.
For instance
, New Zealand, which is having the lowest unemployment rate, does not have an overtime concept, which definitely creates more openings for the part-timers, as some of the industries work over the clock all around the year.
Secondly
, it is
also
beneficial for the employees as they do not have to work longer
hours
, which results in an increase in their productivity.
In addition
to
this
, expenses of the company will
also
decrease as
people
are working for a shorter period of time.
For example
, Sweden has reduced their working days to Four days a week, leading to less expense, better results and decreased usage of the resources. To summarize, it has been seen that almost all of the countries or the provinces applying restrictions on working
hours
are benefitting from it. In my opinion,
this
is definitely a positive shift.
