Some people say that advertising encourages us to buy things that we really do not need. Others say that advertisements tell us about new products that may improve our lives. Which viewpoint do you agree with?

this
statement along with some relevant examples.
Firstly
, I believe that everyone gets tempted to buy items from the advertisements shown, even if we have an alternative for it with us. Most of the promotional campaigns run by the top brands are often endorsed by celebrities, which make it more appealing for

to go ahead with the purchase.
Moreover
, nowadays social media influencers constantly share their experiences with using a certain type of new cookware or furniture, which appeals to the consumer. They procure these

just because they look either pretty or make their job easier, even if they have a similar product at home that does the same job. To cite an example, if

Secondly
, people think that having more trendy and updated appliances, equipment or automobiles will make them stand out in society. Some people tend to care so much about how their neighbours or peers spend money, that they invest in a variety of items, even if they don't use them.
For instance
, my neighbour used to own an 'SUV' by Toyota earlier.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
