In some countries, government are encouraging industries and businesses to move to regional areas outside the big cities Do the advantages of this trend outweigh the disadvantages?

In recent decades urban
areas
have become saturated with corporate and industrial estates.
This
has led some to the argument that government should facilitate these industries to relocate or being set up in rural
areas
. In
this
essay, I will discuss the positives and negatives of
this
trend and I will explain why the merits of
such
a step outweigh its demerits. There are many advantages of setting a business outside urban
areas
and the fundamental of them is the low cost.
This
is because from the land prices to accommodation and groceries all are much cheaper as compared to city centres.
Moreover
, not only development in regional
areas
is beneficial for the locals but
also
for these companies as workers can be hired for a low salary. In Pakistan,
for instance
, relocation of a clothing industry due to financial crises not only transformed the small city of Hyderabad but
also
the company regained its former financial stability by hiring employees at low salaries.
Hence
, encouraging old and new businesses in small
cities
instead
of big ones have an impact on both the city and the companies.
Nevertheless
, there are some disadvantages of
this
trend as well. The major issue is the infrastructure of regional
cities
, which is less developed and can be a problem for some industries. Adding to it, workers in rural
areas
might be plentiful but not as skilled as those in urban centres.
For example
, a recent survey in India revealed that 40% of rural businesses

relocated back to
cities
because of incompetent employees.
Therefore
, the drawbacks of inappropriate buildings and unskilled workers are not negligible when moving a business to rural centres. To conclude,
although
there are some demerits of moving industries to small
cities
, the benefits of low cost and financial development are worth consideration. In my opinion, the benefits of
such
a trend definitely outweigh its some manageable negatives.
