In some countries an increasing number of people are soffering from health problem as a result of eating too much fast food. It is therefore necessary for governments to impose a higher tax on this kind of food. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

It is said that in some places, the number of
people
who become ill from eating junk
food
in excess is rising. Some believe that increasing the taxes for those industries will help to tackle
this
problem
although
is a good idea, doing that could carry more disadvantages than advantages. On one hand, it is well-known that fast
food
is cheaper than healthy meals. Some cannot afford to buy fresh and good quality
food
every day, so they rather eating fast
food
or cooking at home.
However
,
people
know what are they consuming and they accept the risks from time to time. Increasing the taxes for those industries would contribute to growing the poverty problem,
besides
, some small restaurants would have to close or rise the price of the products to pay the government.
On the other hand
,
people
who have the money to chose whether a Mac Donald burger or a fresh salad, have a reason behind it, which could hide an addiction to fast
food
or simply

because it is more appealable and easy to find. Having said that, they would not care if the price is higher.
As a result
, they will be buying junk
food
in big brands leaving behind small restaurants, which could lead to an economical problem in the close future. I think that having higher taxes for fast
food
is not an actual solution when dealing with society' health problems. The government should focus on how to prevent heart disease and relates illnesses by doing educational campaigns, physical and psychological treatment, especially for children and young
people
and help poor
people
by building public markets with fresh
food
at reasonable prices.
