Some people think that parents should teach children how to be good members of society. Others, however, believe that school is the place to learn this. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

People
in some countries prefer buying their own
houserather
Correct your spelling
house rather
than renting a flat because they think it is very important.
This
essay will state two reasons that may cause
this

situation
 and explain why
this
 is a negative
situation
. There are two reasons why
people
 prefer owning a
house
, Purchasing a
house
is a symbol of wealth, Many
people
like to show off by buying
houses
 as
houses
are their property, For instance, many Asian countries require males to buy a flat as a wedding gift in order to show that he has the ability to take care of his wife and he is genuine to her.
Therefore
, many men think it is important to own a
house
in order to prove that they are wealthy. In addition, purchasing an apartment  is a safe investment. The
price
of a flat is skyrocketing in these few decades, so unlike renting, buying a
house
 can help
people
to build wealth in a quicker way.
This
investment has a very low risk because the
price
 of a
house
 rarely falls. So many
people
 think getting a
house
is way better than renting one.
However
, there are two reasons why it is a negative
situation
Firstly
, it causes pressure for
people
. If
people
 would like to buy a
house
, they will have to pay a lot for buying, furnishing and decorating. They may worry that
this
target is too difficult to achieve and
thus
 causes pressure or anxiety.
Moreover
, the
price
 of
houses
becomes higher because of the increasing demand. As
people
prefer buying a flat to renting it, the demand for
houses
is higher than the supply, which will
then
 increase the
price
 of them.
This
will seriously affect the housing market in the long term and make
people
in the future do more to buy
houses
. As a result, it is a negative
situation
 for society. To conclude,
people
 buy
houses
 as investments and
also
 to show off,
however
it may cause negative effects to the country.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
