It is becoming more and more difficult to escape the influence of the media on our lives. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of living in a media rich society.

Usages and influence of
media
in our life and society have dramatically increased around the globe over the
last
few years. It is getting to be increasingly troublesome to elude the impact of the
media
on our lives.
However
, the increasing use of
media
has some detrimental effects on society. On the one hand, admittedly, there are two huge benefits associated with the blooming of
media
. The
first
positive aspect is learning material sources and accuracy.
For example
, nowadays, learning material sources are available on the Internet. When you find new knowledge on the Internet, you can
also
learn about the cultural beauty of other places. An additional strong point of
media
is to have many entertainment programs as well as find many new friends.
For example
, you are aware of fake news on social
media
.
Besides
, you can communicate with many new friends to improve your ability to communicate with
people
. I personally believe that
media
has many merits for
people
in learning about social communication.
On the other hand
, despite these attractions,
however
, some drawbacks do exist. The greatest disadvantage is that there is a lot of fake news on social
media
. The fake news will mislead
people
. It will create conflicting opinions and thoughts about an event. Another negative aspect of the
media
is the unhealthy mindsets.
For example
, bad
people
who become famous will be bad influencers. We have no control over bad influencers. Young
people
are the most vulnerable. In conclusion, while some maintain that the
media
is so bad, I believe it is better to control the information in the
media
.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
