Question: Countries are becoming more and more similar because people are able to buy the same products anywhere in the world. Do you think this is a positive or negative development?

These days with an increase in technology as well as production resources many
products
like electronic devices, food materials, clothes are being available across the world. In my perspective,
this
global availability of resources is a very positive development as it helps people purchase whatever they want from their own
places
instead
of importing from other
places
which usually involves a lot of expenses as well as efforts.
To begin
with, in the previous decades, procuring even some simple
products
like chocolates used to be a big deal. With the rapid change in technology and due to the global exposure of brands and growth in imports & exports, nowadays we are able to purchase most of the foreign
products
at our own
places
.
This
is due to the fact that businesses have been expanding their stores overseas to increase their revenue.
For Example
- Apple stores, previously when Apple
first
launched their electronic devices, their purchases were mostly confined to the US. Later in some years, Apple
products
are now available across many
countries
. I still remember people asking their friends and relatives to buy & send the branded phones to India. Apart from the technological equipment, there are many other things which are now available across the world. Some of them are medical equipment, vaccinations, food materials, perfumes, cosmetics and so on. Importing
products
from other
countries
is usually a costly affair and it
also
takes a lot of time.
Instead
of all these, businesses started purchasing things in bulk from other
places
and are selling them in their own
places
. Even though

there will be a change in pricing,
this
is generally helpful to many of us. The
countries
economy is
also
benefitted from the taxes leveraged. With the increasing use of the internet, there is a surge in online shopping as well. Now, most of the big businesses easily

quickly. I myself sometimes purchase cosmetics from the international stores in the US seamlessly.
However
, there are
also
some cons associated with
this
change. In the name of the trade, many people are engaging in illegal transportation of harmful substances like drugs amidst other useful materials.
This
leads to very disastrous effects. Care must be taken by the vigilance and other authorities to make sure harmful substances aren't transported across the
countries
. To sum it up, the global availability of the resources majorly has many benefits and is useful for both the citizens as well as the country as a whole & it must be encouraged

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
