People think that the government should increase the cost of fuel for cars and other vehicles to solve environmental problems. Give your opinion.

Some people believe, that a high petrol price could decrease air pollution. In my perspective,
this
could be a good measure for restricting the number of vehicles,
furthermore
, the number of unneeded trips would be shrunk too. All of
this
, no doubt, could bring a positive influence to the environment. In the
last
decades, the figure for cars dramatically increased, which
accordingly
caused negative influences on nature. According to data, a century ago, when the number of cars was much less than now, ecological disaster was not so obvious.
This
improves the fact, that the sum of vehicles with gasoline engines and harmful emissions to the atmosphere are directly proportional. If the value of carbon dioxide grew
further
, the world would face irreparable nature consequences in the near future. Currently, an environmental situation demands to do decisive steps, one of them could be an increase in the cost of fuel.
For instance
, in Turkey the amount of cars per capita is very low, and, one of the reasons is the price of petrol, which is at a very high level. Recently researches show, that in wealthy countries, an average person has done approximately two unnecessary trips during the year. If counted all fuel consumption on that trips, there would be nearly 2 billion gallons of petrol per year. Mentioned approach, with high probability, could contribute to the rise of ticket prices, and,
this
would be lead to a decrease in travel activity. Even though some sectors could be suffered, like tourism and transport, the positive impact as a whole is more significant. Suffered sectors of economics could receive the authorities' support from the government revenue, collected as a difference between the real and established price of fuel.
This
could minimize the bad said of that method. Taking the above-mentioned into account, despite some negative impacts,
this
suggested procedure could significantly decrease harmful atmospheric emissions. In my opinion,
this
method could become one of the main stages in the way of protecting the earth from global warming.
