Crime rate, in most countries, is often higher than in urban areas than in rural areas. Why do you think that is? What can be done to reduce the crime rate?

Crime is on the rise in both, developed and underdeveloped countries.
However
, there is a disproportion in the amount of crime being committed, as most of it occurs in the urban
areas
. In
this
essay, we shall discuss the possible reasons for
this
, and
also
necessary steps that can be taken to try and reduce it.
First
and foremost, let's tackle the possible reasons for it. Well, simply put it as Unemployment. Every year citizens migrate from rural
areas
to the bigger cities looking for work, and when they are unable to find employment they resort to petty crimes as a way to get by.
For example
, many migrant workers converge in major cities like Delhi and Mumbai looking for employment, but since the demand is greater than the supply, many individuals are left out, resulting in them resorting to petty criminal activities. One way to curb
this
is for the ministry to introduce training programs that will allow natives to get a chance to hone their skills in various fields.
Furthermore
, the administration can provide companies with certain privileges to try and entice organisations to establish offices in rural
areas
as well, which will, in turn, provide more jobs for the rural people. In conclusion, it is considered that unemployment is the main issue causing criminality. By making more jobs available in rural
areas
and providing training programs for those who are living in cities, society could witness a drop in the crime rate.
