In some countries, parents expect children to spend long time studying in and after school and have less free time. Do you think it has positive or negative effects on children and society that they live in?
Nowadays It is quite common that
study
has occupied children
in school
and after school
time
, they rarely have extra time
for rest or for hobbies. Voice of criticism claims it may lead to negativities to children
and even the whole society. I agree with the opinion and the reasons for this
view will be discussed in the following essay.
To begin
with, due to the growing trend of competition, children
were forced to study
for long hours to pursue greater academic performance in school
. Nonetheless
, a long duration of work may not be beneficial in studying. For instance
, when I was in high school
, I had not only spent time
learning knowledge in class but also
went to cram school
for extra education every week, this
is not an unfamiliar experience to anyone. However
, the exam consequence was not quite satisfying for me. Both my personal experience and statistics have proven that outstanding academic performance could not be guaranteed with only increased study
time
.
Long time
studying in and after school
are not only disassociate with efficiency, it also
has negative impacts on children
and society. they may be suffering from stress or other mental illness due to a lack of free time
to do activities or to sleep. A long time
of study
often stands for a high volume of assignments and school
subjects which may lead to disorder in emotion and cause depression. Furthermore
, authorities must allocate more social resources in dealing with students with mental issues by utilizing the budget that would have been spent on other fields such
as infrastructures, compulsory education and poverty populations. It means there would be fewer funds to support other social issues. On the other hand
, adolescents with mental problems could cause more social issues.
In conclusion, overtime studying in and after school
is not beneficial to either students or the entire society. Therefore
, we should be against this
behaviour, as well as take actions to solve it.Submitted by jasonzeroshi on
