Your friend is thinking about learning to drive and would like some advice. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter • say why a driving licence is advantageous • recommend a driving school • give any extra guidance/tips

Dear Henrique, How are you? I haven't seen you for a while now. I heard you're thinking about learning how to drive, and I decided to write to you in order to give you some advice. At
first
, I got to mention that I believe having your driving licence is the best thing you can do for yourself since you're going to be free to go wherever you want easily.
Therefore
, from now one you are going to be able to schedule your routine more properly, without depending on others or worrying about transportation.
In addition
, I personally think driving is a very pleasure ability,
although
you must try avoiding traffic jams. In order to help you, I'll be attaching to
this
letter an address of a place where you can take some drive lessons with specialized professionals.
Furthermore
, it's located just a quarter from your house, at Charleston Avenue. In fact, it just came to my mind that if you say you're a student they might offer you a discount so that you can save some of your wages. If I can give you some extra tips, be careful on the day you take your exam so you do not trespass another car by its left side since it's extremely prohibited.
Also
, don't forget to fast your seatbelt as soon as you enter the car.
Moreover
, if you see a person trying to cross the street, you might stop the vehicle and give her or him the preference. I'm looking forward to hearing from you soon. I hope you ace the test! Best wishes, Anna

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
