You have just read an article in an international travel magazine which contain some information about your home town which is incorrect. write a letter to the editor correct the information explain why it is important to give correct information suggests what should be done about the situation
I am writing to notify you of the wrong information you published on September 10th,2021 about my town , Osun State Nigeria.
Firstly
, thank you for the amazing article but there are some errors that needed to be corrected in there. you said food items are very expensive In my place
but that is
inaccurate. How can food be expensive in a place
where farming and fishing is the main occupation of residents? My home time is the best place
you can get the cheapest foodstuffs because farmers in my town often cultivate varieties of consumables in Large quantities including r
yam,
vegetables, pepper, tomatoes etc. In addition
, women in my town are mostly into trading of food materials; which often take place
at the market.
Furthermore
, inappropriate information can scare our potential foreign wholesalers away. It can also
prevent potential students from coming to study .All these will definitely have a negative impact on economic growth.so there is a need to always ensure that accurate information is being published.
To conclude, I want you to correct this
mistake as soon as possible ( between 3 to 5 days) , do a proper investigation, and republish it in order to avoid people's criticism. Thanks in anticipation.

The Greeting
Depending on the style and aim of the letter, you will need to adapt your greeting.
Always start an informal letter in the ways:
- Dear + name
- Hi / Hello + name
‘Dear...’ is more appropriate, so stick with this.
For a formal letter there are two options for the greeting:
- Use Dear Sir or Madam if you don’t know the name of the person you are writing to.
- Use Dear + surname if you do know their name, e.g. Dear Mr Smith or Dear Mrs Jones.
