In the last century, the first man to walk on the moon said it was "a giant leap for mankind”. However, some people think it has made little difference to our daily lives. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Undeniably, there has been big progress in
space
explorations
. The
first
man who walked on the moon in the twenty century said, "It was a giant leap for mankind", implying knowing more about the universe would lead
people
to the
next
level.
However
, in my perspective, the drawbacks caused by
space
explorations
outweigh the minimal progress.
First
of all, there are many things that
people
have to concentrate on more and spend
money
on rather than
space
explorations
. Many nations and companies invest enormous
money
in the
space
business,
although
there are so many
problems
on the
Earth
at the moment.
For instance
, a lot of
people
who live in
countries
in Africa are suffering from poor nutrition. Poor
countries
do not have good housing, healthcare, education systems yet. In
this
situation, it is ironic that developed
countries
spend huge
money
that poor
countries
really want to solve their
countries
problems
that are directly relevant. I reckon government and nations should try to make a better
Earth
and make all the
people
on
Earth
live well. Of course, there are benefits and advantages from
space
explorations
. Since extremely high technologies are needed to launch a rocket or a spaceship,
people
could have developed the quality of aeroplanes.
Also
, we could have known more about the
earth
,
such
as the reason why the earthquakes happen.
Nevertheless
, these kinds of benefits are less important to make a better
Earth
. To sum up, I reckon that
people
should spend more
money
solving the
problems
on
Earth
than knowing about outer
space
since there are already enormous unsolved and immediate
problems
on
Earth
.
