Some people say that the only reason for learning a foreign language is in order to travel to or work in a foreign country. Others say that these are not the only reasons why someone should learn a foreign language. Discuss both the views and give your own opinion.

It has been widely argued that people learn another
language
in addition
to their mother tongue exclusively for travelling or working abroad.
Nevertheless
, it is by no means the sole purpose of studying a foreign
language
while a substantial proportion of people are determined to expose to a non-native
language
to enhance their educational and professional prospects.
First
and foremost, nobody can deny the fact that the ability to speak a foreign
language
is paramount for international purposes
such
as leapfrogging or embarking on a profession in another country of a different
language
.
For example
, several foreign companies demand a certificate of a
language
proficiency test for prospective employees from abroad, specifically, the IELTS general training scores.
Moreover
, being able to master a foreign
language
could bring an explorer a more satisfying experience as she can communicate well with the locals and enjoy their mores.
Nevertheless
, it would definitely be a frivolity to claim those are the only causes of learning a foreign tongue. As the world evolves rapidly, mastering an additional
language
have become mandatory since students require it for their
further
studies abroad or continuing at their established local institution where the curriculums for higher education have been developed in a foreign
language
, particularly in English.
For example
, many pedagogical experts have found that virtually 100% of post-graduate students take at least one
language
proficiency test for their academic advancement regardless of the destinations.
In addition
to
this
, a majority of local employees is expected to speak a foreign
language
if they have a desire for job progression, communicating efficiently with colleagues of other countries who accompany the increasing number of newly established international business. On balance, considering travel and working abroad as the only purposes of learning foreign languages is virtually invalid whereas the trend has largely focused on academic and professional attainment as the driving forces behind the decisions to learn
such
additional languages.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
