The development of tourism has contributed to English becoming the most prominent language in the world. Some people think that this will lead to English becoming the only language to be spoken globally. What are the advantages and disadvantages to having one language in the world?

In the
last
few centuries, English has risen to become the most spoken
language
on the planet. There are some concerns that in the future we will have a unique
language
.
This
essay will explore the advantages and disadvantages of having a single world
language
. Tourism has led to English becoming the most prevalent
language
in the world, due to the necessity of finding a dialect that everyone can speak and understand. In terms of positives, having everyone talking in the
language
will cooperate with the eradication of communication barriers. A good illustration of
that is
that people from very distant locations will be able to exchange information and knowledge easily.
Furthermore
,
this
will provide better educational and personal opportunities. Under these circumstances we will have children in Africa studying with the same linguistic resources as kids in England, providing them better academic and cultural opportunities.
This
is perhaps the single biggest advantage that could arise from having a single
language
.
However
, there are undoubtedly some negatives that come with having limited linguistic resources.
First
and foremost is the fact that there are still too many urgencies in developing nations, where money must be invested in other priorities. Establishing tourism as the main economic activity will lead to neglecting other areas. Taking everything into consideration,
although
there are certain disadvantages, I think that the advantages outweigh those. Learning a new
language
will provide every person in the world with better communication skills and more advanced academic and cultural knowledge, despite the logistic and economic difficulties of teaching and the possibility of losing cultural dialects.
