Some people believe that teaching children at home is best for a child’s development while others think that it is important for children to go to school. Discuss the advantages of both methods and give your own opinion. Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

The COVID-19 Pandemic has changed the course of education. It has forced educators to adapt to the concept of remote learning and has raised a very controversial question. There are contradicting views on whether
children
should
children
go to
school
or are they better off learning at
home
. On one side, there are several advantages of studying from
home
.
First
and foremost, students spend less time on their daily commute and can use it to prepare for their day. A recent survey revealed that on average
children
spend 45mins on the bus each way.
Secondly
, spending the day at
home
can allow
children
to go beyond what is taught at
school
and dwell on developing other extra-curricular skills. I recollect, my younger brother always wanted to go for soccer lessons but only found time for it once his
school
had turned remote 6 months ago.
On the other hand
, others argue that going to
school
has a great number of advantages. It helps
children
develop discipline and a routine
that is
otherwise
very difficult to achieve at
home
.
Further
, it allows students to interact with people of their own age and helps build communication and interpersonal skills. It is
also
a very well known fact that
Children
who learn remotely are more likely to feel lonely and prone to mental health illnesses
such
as depression. In my opinion, I strongly believe that
school
is a very important journey in a child's life and should not be skipped. The advantages of learning on-site outweigh that of remote education. I absolutely loved and cherished the knowledge I gained and memories I made while at my
School

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
