Some people think news has no connection to people’s lives. Therefore, it is a waste of time to read the newspaper and watch television news programs. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is believed by some that there is no relation between
news
and daily lives;
thus
, it is meaningless and time-consuming to either watch the TV or read the press. Notwithstanding, I personally

oppose this
statement due to two main reasons, as will now be discussed.
First
and foremost, the
news
does reflect what is happening around the world, and it plays a vital role in keeping
people
informed about all the events. Indeed, for a long time, the press has been established to complete the mission of spreading the
news
to individuals.
This
benefits human beings by enabling
people
to stay connected between country and countries. Nowadays, there are more and more online newspapers, which flattens the planet by providing readers all the
news
worldwide with just a click.
Second
of all,
news
programmes are vital under many circumstances to predict the future. Economists and entrepreneurs tend to follow the economic
news
, thereby making crucial decisions related to doing business;
otherwise
, the economy could be disrupted and degraded, which poses severe threats to the working class.
In addition
, the press plays a key role in informing
people
about important events
such
as disasters, diseases, and the like. Without being noticed about
such
occurrences, the damage could be catastrophic both in the short run and in the long run. By and large, there is a strong connection between individuals' lives and
news
, which
also
benefits
people
in many scenarios. It is only a waste of time if readers choose the wrong articles to read;
otherwise
, newspapers are indispensable in our daily lives to keep pace with the entire world.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
