Some people say that advertising is extremely successful at persuading us to buy things. Other people think that advertising is so common that we no longer pay attention to it. Discuss both of these views and give your own opinion.

In order to sell a
product
, manufacturing companies often use advertising as a medium. There are arguments for and against advertisements with some
people
suggesting that it still influences them to buy products
while
others feel it hardly makes an impact on them. Personally, I believe it still works well as a means of marketing a
product
. On one hand, the use of
adverts
to sell a
product
can be said to be successful as will be proved by the following reason. Ultimately, many of the goods that
people
now possess, came
as a result
of some advert they came across which showed to them how much they were missing by not having a particular item. To put
this
in perspective, if advertising has not been a success,
then
we would not have many if not all of the promoted goods being bought by the masses. To illustrate, a survey conducted by a certain marketing company on the effects of
adverts
on
people
proved that 90% of those who watched the promotions were able to buy the item eventually. Despite the foregoing reason, other
people
believe that advertisements bear little or no fruit.
This
is because ,in spite of the numerous
adverts
on various products on the market,
people
do not attempt to buy things they did not intend to purchase
initially
.
In other words
, rather than being made to buy something simply because someone praised it,
people
know what they need to buy without aid. Take,
for example
, an individual who plans to buy a laptop that he needs for studying purposes
comes
Correct word choice
and comes
show examples
across an advert about a pair of shoes which he does not need, regardless of how much praise the shoe might receive through advertising, it will have no bearing on him. In conclusion,
although
certain
people
believe marketing a
product
has little impact on them because they can not be made to buy something they did not intend to, advertising aids in getting the right kind of items one needs.
This
is why I strongly concur with the sentiment that
adverts
are extremely successful today.
